How to Spend Your Day Off in New York

Traveling to New York on business and you’ve got a day off?

Well, there’s no better place on earth to spend a free day. You could literally make a list of thousands of things to do in New York on a day off, but instead, we’ve just picked a few.

At Stride Limo, we specialize in New York car services and airport transfers, so we are the perfect choice to make sure your time in New York is perfect. Our drivers know the city like the back of their hands and will do anything to help you enjoy your stay.

Here’s a short guide to spending your day in New York.

Breakfast

If you’re having breakfast in New York, you’ve got to go for a bagel. Like a lot of New York culture, the bagel is an immigrant of sorts. While it’s not 100% clear where it came from, bagels have existed in France and Italy for thousands of years.

You can’t walk far in New York without seeing a place to get bagels, but it really depends on where you are. A quick Google search will set you right.

Morning

Spend your morning having a relaxing walk through Central Park. You can work off that bagel while soaking up the New York atmosphere. There’s plenty to see around Central Park, including the Strawberry Fields memorial if you are a John Lennon fan. I mean, who isn’t?

Then walk through Central Park to the Metropolitan Museum. You can find it by walking towards the Obelisk, a large monument next to the museum.

The Museum holds over 5,000 years of art and history and is one of New York’s most visited attractions.

Lunch

In a city as big and diverse as New York, it is almost impossible to give advise on where to go for lunch. There are over 20,000 restaurants in New York and pretty much every cuisine on the planet is catered for. Tell our driver what sort of food you are looking for and let them suggest somewhere.

Afternoon

Take a quick drive across to the Top of The Rock Observation Deck. This newly opened, 3 tier observation deck is the perfect way to take in New York from above. You will really get an idea of the scale of the city.

Evening

Two of the best spots for wining and dining in New York are Little Italy and Chinatown. Ask your driver to take you down to these areas and get yourself something to eat. Again, the restaurant choice is personal, but our driver will have a few suggestions if you need them.

Then get across to Time Square to really take in the City That Never Sleeps. You could catch a show on Broadway or just grab a few drinks at a local bar before our driver takes you back to your hotel.

Book onto our Chauffeur Service New York and enjoy your day off!
